Rabbi Tobin began his scouting connection in College as a volunteer with a special needs Cub Pack and membership in Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity which was founded on the principles of the Scout Oath and Law. In his last pulpit, Rabbi Tobin was the Charter Organization Representative for Troop 61 in the Heart of America Council, a 90 year old Jewish unit, that has produced over 300 Jewish Eagle scouts, and once was the largest unit in the world. He worked with local Pack 3153, attended Cub Scout Day Camp, the H. Roe Bartell Scout Reservation summer camp and was involved with the Jewish Committee on Scouting. Here, Rabbi Tobin has been a Wolf Den Leader, Bear Den Leader, is the Cubmaster and has 3 boys in Pack 365. He helps organize Religious Emblems workshops for the Jewish Units in the region, and is a member of the Northern New Jersey Council Committee. Charter Organization Representative and Pack Committee Chair Marlene Lynn:
Marlene Lynn began her Boy Scouting affiliation 14 years ago when her son, who is now an Eagle Scout, was a Tiger Cub with Cub Pack 16 in Livingston. Marlene was Tiger Cub Coach, was Secretary and Pack Trainer and served on the Pack Committee, prior to becoming Cubmaster. She continued to serve on the Troop 16 Committee, first as Troop Treasurer and later as Troop Trainer, and is currently still a member of the Troop Committee. In addition to working with the local units, Marlene became the District Training Chair of the Orange Mountains District, assisting with and running many District and Council level training courses. Marlene has been awarded the Cub Souter and Cubmaster knots, along with the District Training Award and District Award of Merit. She has taken the Wood Badge for the 21st Century course and staffed this course twice. She served four years on the Council Training Committee.
