B’nai Shalom of West Orange Youth Programs keeps trucking along !!!!!!!!!

Sukkah Party at Rabbi Shapiro of Cong Shomrei Emunah in Montclair, Thursday night, October 20th, 2005

18 USYers and Kadimanicks from West Orange and Montclair converged on the sukkah of Rabbi Noah Shapiro, the spiritual leader of Congregation Shomrei Emunah in Montclair. In an informal atmosphere, the teens and adults who were present partook on some pizza and veggies while schmoozing and relaxing in each others company. We listened as the rabbi spoke to us for awhile on a theme related to the holiday. It was a very successful event as it showed our strength when both chapters get together, especially on a Jewish holiday.

Regional USY LTI Convention, Friday, October 28- Sunday, October 30, 2005

Danny Michaelis and Sherman Fabes attended the LTI (Leadership Training Institute) in Aberdeen and learned quite a lot about what it means to be officers of a chapter and the responsibilities of these officers to the success of each and very chapter in the Hagalil region. The materials given to Danny and Sherman will be shared with the chapter as we seek to form our Executive Board in January 2006.

Kadima @ Beadworks, Monday evening, November 14th, 2005

It was a cool night with very few people on the street yet 8 Kadimanicks from West Orange and Montclair Kadima got together at Montclair Beadworks to have a great time. We made bracelets and necklaces for both ourselves and our parents. The results were outstanding and proved how creative our kadimanicks could be. It took every minute of the 1 ½ hours we were there. As instructed, the project was planned out on a crafts board before the beads were strung on a wire.

It’s a clichι but true…the success of these programs depends to a large extent on parental involvement and support. Your support has been evidenced by the tremendous turnout at all our youth programs so far. Keep it going!!! Keep your child(ren) coming to as many programs as feasible. Also, please make our lives so much easier by RSVPing!

Registration forms are available through the synagogue office or by contacting Jeff Kirschenbaum, Youth Director, at (973) 736-7990 (West Orange Youth Program Hotline), (201) 306-1777 (cell) or by emailing wousykadima@yahoo.com.

B’Shalom,
